In this Let’s Talk AI interview with Michael Avery, Kavi Pather – EY Africa Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics Leader – discusses the challenges of unlocking the potential of AI.

Pather holds an Honours degree in Actuarial Science from Wits University and a Masters in Integrated Innovation in Products and Services from Carnegie Mellon University.

He has also served an Associate Lecturer at Wits University and is now a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.

Pather joined EY Africa as an Actuarial, Quants, and Data Science Leader in 2016, before assuming his current role in 2021.

In 2023, Pather took up a second position as EY Africa’s Global Insurance Generative AI Coordinator.
