Eskom pushes load shedding higher – here’s the new schedule

Power utility Eskom says that load shedding will now vary between Stages 2 and 3 for the rest of the week due to delays.

“Whilst some generating units have returned to service since Sunday, some are experiencing delays,” Eskom said.

Due to these delays in returning the units back to service and the need to conserve emergency reserves, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 on Wednesday, followed by Stage 3 load shedding from 16:00 until 05:00 on Thursday.

This pattern of implementing Stage 2 loadshedding in the morning and Stage 3 loadshedding in the evening will be repeated daily until further notice.

Eskom noted it would monitor the system and communicate should any significant changes occur. Please refer to the table below for the load shedding schedule:

Wednesday, 15 November

  • Stage 3: 00h00 to 05h00
  • Stage 2 05h00 to 16h00
  • Stage 3: 16h00 to 00h00

Thursday, 16 November

  • Stage 3: 00h00 to 05h00
  • Stage 2: 05h00 to 16h00
  • Stage 3: 16h00 to 00h00

Friday, 17 November

  • Stage 3: 00h00 to 05h00
  • Stage 2: 05h00 to 16h00
  • Stage 3: 16h00 to 00h00
